the inauguration of barack obama.
no matter who you chose to vote for (btw-no one knows who i voted for. not even my dear husband who thinks he has me all figured out:)), it's hard not to see the beauty of what is happening in our country today. i'm watching the "pre-show" of the inauguration this morning as the obama family follows the same traditions as other presidents have since 1933 and i'm finding myself feeling a little emotional about it:) if you know me, this is not like me. i'm not passionate about politics and i'm not usually emotional but the idea of our country changing for the better is......pretty amazing. today is historical. today will be a day that children read about in school for years to come. i hope that we will welcome our ethiopian daughter home in 09-the year obama came to the white house. can't wait to see how it all turns out......

That is so funny! I published a blog with the exact same sentiments today! Michael knows who I voted for, but my students don't. They all think they have me all figured out, too! It is so amazing to think of our kids never knowing any different than having had a black man in office and women running for president and vice president!
