BIG NEWS!

We are adopting from Ethiopia!!! The process has officially begun and we are so excited! We have been exploring this for several years and feel that this is the perfect time to proceed. In November we decided on an adoption agency, Gladney, and received an application. Of course I completed that on day 1 and mailed it back:) I received a call from the agency less than 2 weeks later and on Friday (12/5) we had an hour long phone orientation/interview. The staff member from Gladney was wonderful and not only agreed to work with us but explained the entire adoption process in detail. I have a million things to do and A LOT of paperwork to get done asap.

Tomorrow I hope to complete a 2nd application for adoption, immigration forms, contact an agency in the area to set up a home study, request certified copies of birth certificates and our marriage certificate, get a passport, and head to the bank to discuss the best way to pay for this beautiful thing!

They say that the adoption process usually takes somewhere between 10 and 15 months. So, I'm hoping and praying that this time next year i'll be posting pictures of our 2nd little girl!

Stay tuned......

AHH!!! So exciting. I just talked about your cool parenting style today with Jules.

Here is a link to my cousin's wife's blog. Wyatt is adopted from Khazikstan, but they are currently in the process of adopting from Ethiopia. She has some posts in September about it. This is one of them: http://schlaferspowerof3.blogspot.com/2008/09/zoo.html I know you could contact them if you felt like it!!

Beki!!! That is fantastic news... I am so excited for you! I have a friend from college who is adopting a little girl from Korea, and is in the final stages right now... you can check out her blog and read her journey... I am so glad you are inviting us all in to take this "trip" with you. I will be praying for this :)
