adoption update.

it's been a little while since i've posted an adoption update. i feel like we are finally getting to the end of the paperwork process! after filing our I600A we received fingerprinting dates in naperville but of course we were out of the state! i had to send in the proper paper work to get a different date-trying to talk to an officer from homeland security on the phone about switching the dates made me want to poke out my own eyes:) the person i got on the phone was reading from a script and using all of this lingo that i couldn't understand. it finally came down to..."do this by mail". both brandon and i had our appointments this week. now we wait....

our homestudy has been submitted to DCFS and they have approved it. i am now waiting on our 171 H to come in the mail so that we can send it on to our agency, etc.....

our dossier is almost complete. once we receive our final homestudy and other important documents we'll put it all together and send it to ETHIOPIA!!

while i'm waiting on these official documents to come in the mail i have a few odds and ends to get done. brandon and i have to watch 2 more training videos, take a cpr class, and make a couple more trips to FedEx and the notary but i truly see an end in sight! it's getting exciting now! july is the 9th month of paperwork......more than twice what i had hoped:). but somewhere in this process i took a breath and re-adjusted my expectations:).

i'm trying to calm myself regularly and pray that everything is working out in the exact and perfect way that God intends. that at the end of this process we'll have our daughter home with us. the little girl that is meant to be a part of our grissom family.

stella already talks about being a big sister. she calls her "baby opi-opia". it's really cute and i can't wait until she has a sister and best friend to pay with.
